Does WHISKAS® Canned Cat Food need to be refrigerated after opening?

Answer
Yes. Any unused portion needs to be refrigerated in a sealed container. We recommend using the food within four days of opening. You may want to allow the food to sit at room temperature for about thirty minutes or microwave the food for a few seconds (in a microwave-safe dish - not in the can!) prior to feeding, as some cats do not care for cold food.

Does WHISKAS® Cat Food in the FLAVOR-LOCK™ Pouch need to be refrigerated after opening?

Yes, our WHISKAS® Dry Cat Food has been formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages. However, we have recently added a kitten formula to our dry line. WHISKAS® Dry Food For Kittens is specially formulated to deliver great taste and 100% complete and balanced nutrition for all growth, gestation and lactation.

My cats absolutely love the WHISKAS® TEMPTATIONS® Cat Treats. Is it okay for them to eat these as their food?

While our WHISKAS® TEMPTATIONS® Cat Treats are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for growth and maintenance we recommend feeding them one of our WHISKAS® Dry Cat Food products as their main meal.

Does WHISKAS® CATMILK Drink For Cats & Kittens need to be refrigerated after opening?

Yes, this product should be refrigerated after opening. It will keep in the refrigerator for about a week. We suggest bringing it to room temperature prior to serving for your cat's maximum enjoyment.

How do I read the date code on WHISKAS® Cat Food?

We currently have a Best Before date on our packaging that reads "Best Before MM/YYYY". For example, a date code that reads "Best Before 05/2007" is best if used by the end of May, 2007. Prior to the Best Before date coding, the manufacturing code was used to determine the best before date. The first six digits provide the best before date which is printed as DDMMYY. For instance, a code that begins with 260507 has a best before date of May 26, 2007.

What is the proper way to store WHISKAS® Cat Food?

We recommend storing all of our WHISKAS® Cat Food products in a cool dry place, not subject to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Our dry products should not be stored in areas of humidity (washer, dryer, refrigerator, etc.) or near odorous materials (detergent, fertilizer, etc.). If possible, store our dry products in a plastic container (keep the product in the bag with top folded closed for best storage).
